High School Senior

>> 6/11/14

My eldest just finished her junior year. It's time to think about senior pictures, a varsity jacket, college applications, and everything else related to the last year of high school. Who aged me enough to have a senior in high school? When did that happen?

She is moving onto vet school, pre-vet first and then veterinary medicine. She and her boyfriend are talking about marriage after college (oh please, slow down). I'm googling colleges and vet schools; I'm not to google raleigh wedding photography yet.

*deep breath* for the upcoming senior year.

When did that happen?

>> 1/14/14

I realized the other day that in three months, we will have three teenagers in the house. When did that happen? When did I get old enough to have THREE teenagers?  That leaves my youngest, who will be nine in a few months. She still likes dolls and swing sets but for how long? I don't think we'll be looking for swing sets in williamsburg va if we don't get one soon. She's outgrowing everything! I just put three bags of clothes in the church donation bin that she's outgrown.

It seems like you blink and they've grown up!

Waiting for Season to Change

>> 8/16/11

Summer will be over soon! I am so excited. I am not a summer person at all. I love cooler temperatures.

Now, that's not to say I like winter. I don't. Perhaps if I had some winter toys, like a Polaris with Polaris Ranger Accessories, it'd be different, but I am not a cold weather person.  I like it cool enough to throw on a light jacket  or long-sleeve shirt and enjoy the day.

I am really loving these cooler mornings!  Right now, the kids are all sleeping still, I have my glass of hot Organic India Tulsi tea and am just soaking up the quiet.

Proud of My Son

>> 12/11/10

I am so proud of my 11-year-old son.  He is very sensitive and caring.  He hugs me and tells me he loves me everyday.  He's such a good boy.

He wanted to buy his girlfriend a Christmas gift.  I asked him if he wanted to get her a stuffed animal.  Of course not.  He wants to get her jewelry.  Wow!  He was trying to decide between a heart necklace, heart bracelet, or cubic zirconia rings. He ended up with a necklace with a heart on it with cubic zirconia inside it.  It's really very sweet.  He'll give it to her at school this week before Christmas break starts.  I wish I could watch him do that.

Dysfunction for the Holidays

>> 12/7/10

I found out a couple weeks ago that my sister got canned from her nursing job.  Come to find out last night, she's actually been out of work for months but everybody was hiding it from the family (oh the joys of family dysfunction especially during the holidays).  With the economy the way it is, but the need for healthcare jobs always in demand, you'd think she'd try better to behave herself being in the career she's in (or was in).

I'm not surprised but her patients are better off.  It takes a special kind of person to be a good nurse.

Looking for a Date - with the husband

>> 11/25/10

If you have thyroid disease (particular hypothyroid), you are probably really feeling this cold weather if you live in the north!  Brrr!!!  It's cold outside.  Makes me think about cuddling up around a fire with hot chocolate in a cabin somewhere. Who am I kidding? I would just like a date away from the kids with my husband! It's been seven months since we had a night out without kids.
